Photos & Video of Isaac!

Born: Wednesday, October 21st
Time: 3:42 am
Weight: 8lbs. 8oz.
Length: 21 in.

Todd and I are so happy!!! Isaac is just 10 days old today and I am still so completely amazed by him! I think he's the most perfect boy, he is such a beautiful great baby and is so alert. I love to read & sing to him, he eats like a little shark (frantically & at all crazy times of the day and night), he stares up at me alot and loves to have his binkie, swaddler, sleep next to me and be rocked by todd.

So those of you that would like to hear the story, here is the short happy version-and no yucky birth details I promise! My water broke at 4am on tuesday and after 7 hours of just sleeping and waiting, (11am)I was given (if this is correct) ocytocin to induce contractions. 4 hours later (3pm)the contractions were really painful in my lower back so I was given the first epidural. That's right the 1st! After one wonderful hour of numbness and sleep, I started to feel contractions on my left side and 2 hours later (6pm)when they had definitely gotten worse, I was given the 2nd. Hallelujah! Although it was so freaky not to feel or move my legs, almost claustrophobic. 6 hours later with lots of sleep(midnight) the nurses had me start pushing. Not fun. The next 3hours and 42 minutes were exhausting and probably not pretty, but then there he was! Todd and I held him, then my mom, and he was given a sponge bath and checked. At 5am they moved us upstairs to the recovery unit and it was so nice to cuddle and feed him, then todd and I had breakfast and finally were able to sleep! Sort of. I swear every 20 minutes there was a nurse checking or coming in for something, which was great, but it got a bit overwhelming. Well,  from here on out it's going to be busy, busy I suppose but rewarding.

We brought Isaac home late Thursday and our first night was so peaceful. It was wonderful to put him in pajamas and watch him sleep in his crib. The next day we had lots of visitors as family and friends had been unable to come to the hospital because of the flu season and hospital limitations of two people. My mom was here for 2 weeks to help me, then my dad and step mom, step sister, 2 brothers came from Idaho and Salt Lake to see us, and todd's family here has spent lots of time visiting and caring for us.

For his 1 week birthday todd and i got him...circumcised! No, just kidding, his appointment happened to fall on the next wednesday which was cruel.  The doctor had me give him tylenol then dip his binkie in "sweetie juice" as I stroked his soft little head-what a tough boy-he didn't cry at all!  He also has slept great through most nights, and I have only had one occasion so far that I felt totally exhausted, incompitant and frustrated-I am sure there are more to come-but I have lots of help from family and Todd and I are so grateful to have Isaac and look forward to all the wonderful things to come.

Thank you so much to my wonderful mom who took care of me, Todd, Isaac and our house and did all the cooking! You are great mom and I miss you already!!! It was also wonderful to have my dad, Olga and Kate come and two of my handsome brothers Ben & Preston! I was so excited to have you here and I hope you enjoyed seeing Isaac and being in St. George. I hope everyone can come back over the holidays, then we can take Isaac out.
